I was raised by incredible community activists, historic educators, and trailblazing attorneys who instilled in me the value of caring for my community. As a proud double HBCU alumna, I deeply believe in the significance of culturally empathetic care and the power of facilitating mindful communication. I earned my B.S. degree in Maternal & Child Health Education and Black Studies from Howard University magna cum laude. During my matriculation at Howard University I became a birthworker serving families throughout the DMV area. Witnessing the families I served struggle with interpersonal communication and conflicting approaches to parenting inspired me to become a family mediator. I earned my juris doctor degree from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clark School of Law where I completed more than 400 hours of pro bono services as a D.C. certified law student admitted to practice for folks seeking asylum and going through divorce. I am certified by the Florida Supreme Court to be a family law mediator. With over a decade of experience as a health educator, birthworker, and legal policy researcher, I am committed to offering families a mediation experience that is thoughtfully crafted and empowering. I have been honored to work with different folks from all walks of life and all around the globe. These experiences provide me with a broad lenses and ability to relate with people to assist folks build bridges bringing people closer. I have been awarded domestically and internationally for my lifelong service to the community and dedication to ensuring that everyone has access to the things we all need to live lives with dignity and joy.
